Summary

Childcare Center is seeking a dependable janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our childcare center. This is a part-time position with a consistent weekday schedule , working Monday through Friday from either 3:00?8:00 PM or 4:00?9:00 PM . All cleaning supplies are provided by the center.

Duties

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, bathrooms, and hallways
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum all flooring
• Disinfect tables, shelves, and high-touch surfaces
• Empty all trash cans and diaper bins
• Wipe down door glass, entryways, and check-in areas
• Restock paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized janitor closet and supply area
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines for childcare environments
• Communicate supply needs or maintenance concerns to the director

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must pass a background check
• Prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• Must be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Physically able to bend, lift, carry cleaning supplies, and be on your feet for extended periods
• Available to work weekday afternoon and evening shifts (3:00?8:00 PM or 4:00?9:00 PM)
• Comfortable working in a childcare environment after hours

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in or cleaning a childcare or school setting
• Familiarity with sanitation procedures in environments serving children
• Ability to notice and report minor maintenance issues
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Good communication and time management skills
• Willingness to be flexible and help with occasional deep cleaning projects
• A positive attitude and pride in creating a clean, safe space for children and staff
