SAIC is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Cloud Computing Engineer Architect with an active Secret clearance to join our Cloud One team Government A1 Enclave by Cloud One project. The Air Force A1 DTA Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, and data in support of DoD Services and Agencies.

Candidates for this position will be expected to work hands on projects to include interaction with the team. This position is 100% remote.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, plan, and execute client-specific, cloud architecture solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other cloud engineers and architects.
  • Collaborate closely with A1 DTA Leadership and team to align strategy with organizational goals.
  • Define and enforce policies, standards and best practices to ensure compliance, security and efficiency.
  • Mentor and coach team on best practices and design.
  • Ensure timely responses to the customer.
  • Ensure project expectations are aligned with business requirements.
  • Work Lambda functions for automation.
  • Support Operations as needed.
  • Oversee and manage Infrastructure and Application Architecture to include assistance in guiding the modernization and implementation of applications.
  • Assist with migration existing application to containerized architecture.
  • Create, plan, and execute client-specific cloud solutions.
  • Ensure that the cloud network responds to customer and project expectations.
  • Research and analyze cloud technology trends for potential impact to the enterprise technology strategy and recommend appropriate changes and areas of future enhancement.
  • Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our customer's Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle and Google footprint.
  • Conduct proof of concept (POC) and implement the design in production environment in AWS / Azure / Oracle and Google.
  • Work with various technology teams to understand current applications and make migration recommendations and to-be architectures in AWS / Azure / Oracle Google.
  • Develop automated solutions to monitor and support software development, release management and CI/CD Pipeline.
  • Work with program stakeholders to forecast, plan, and coordinate all product level procurements and integrations.
  • Responsible for communication to program leadership, other program teams and government stakeholders.
  • Responsible for reporting all risks and mitigation efforts for all project related activities to government stakeholders and program leadership.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to users.

Qualifications

Required Clearance and Certification:

  • Secret clearance required.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Security + Certification or higher DoD IAT Level II (DoD 8140 previously 8570).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and fourteen (14) year or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands on Dev Ops Engineering with Demonstrated hands-on experience to include:
    • Containerization; Kubernetes, Docker.
    • CI/CD; Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub (automating code integration, testing and deployment).
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC); Terraform, Ansible.
    • Monitoring and Logging: SPLUNK, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
    • Automation and Scripting: Python, Bash, Ruby.
    • Linux/RHEL to include file handling, system administration and process management and cloud integration.
  • Experience and knowledge of multi-cloud networks; Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Oracle and Google Cloud infrastructure.
  • Documented experience with Agile, waterfall and iterative project lifecycles.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy or related).
  • Expertise in AWS/Azure cloud networking, storage, compute and security services:
    • AWS/Azure: EC2, Lambda, Fargate, Virtual Machines.
    • Storage: Amazon S3, EBS, Glacier; Azure Blob, Disk, Archive Storage.
    • Networking; AWS VPC, Direct Connect; Azure Virtual Network, Express Route.
    • Security: AWS IAM, AWS, KMS, AWS Shield; Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, Security Center.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of IT security best practices of application architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with Patch Management, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Amazon Elastic Container Registry.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with government teams collaborating for project planning and execution.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects.

Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience with Configuration Management frameworks.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Hashicorp).
  • Expertise in Frontend and other UIs (java, node.js, …).
  • At least 1 year’s experience with a formal version control tool (Subversion, Git, TFS, or ClearCase).
  • Master’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or Engineering or Engineering or equivalent experience and certification.
  • Working knowledge of virtual desktops to include install and maintain related tools.
  • Hands-on experience establishing and maintaining SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation.
  • Experience with Zero trust architectures.
  • Experience with AWS Workspaces or experience deploying VDI solutions to AWS Cloud.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
