Position Details:Shift: 7 days on / 7 days off (alternating Wed-Tue or Thu-Wed), 8:00 AM - 6:00 PMSchedule: 70 hours per pay period, with initial onboarding in a traditional Mon-Fri schedule for the first 30 daysCompensation & Benefits: Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package (excluding PTO accrual for 7 days on / 7 days off) NO CALL!!! Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois. Serving more than 25 counties, it has become the largest home care network in the region and one of the largest in the country. The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services. Preferred QualificationsRole PurposeAssess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Ensure prompt and accurate medication preparation and dispensing. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Supervise and direct supportive personnel. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications. ResponsibilitiesDirects and manages workflow including oversight of technicians, interns and volunteers ensuring the accuracy of their work in accordance with departmental procedures and Federal and State regulations.Participates in departmental meetings and on committees at the health service organization, as appropriate.Serves as medication therapy resource for activities such as drug information, training of staff, transitions of care and Medication Therapy Services.Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes.
