Our client, a leading food manufacturing company known for quality products and a strong commitment to innovation, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in manufacturing cost analysis and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
Prepare and review monthly cost reports and variance analyses to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Partner with operations to monitor production efficiency, yield, and waste reporting.
Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory valuations.
Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting.
Conduct inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Provide financial support for pricing, new product launches, and process changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory control, and variance analysis.
Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; experience with [ERP name] is a plus.
