Description Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for analyzing and managing costs to maximize efficiency? Robert Half is working with a growing organization to find an experienced Cost Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for tracking and analyzing the costs associated with production, inventory, and operations while ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards. You will work closely with senior leadership, operations, and finance teams to optimize profitability and support valuable decision-making insights. Key Responsibilities + Maintain and analyze product costs, including materials, labor, and overhead + Review and reconcile inventory valuations, including identifying inconsistencies and preparing adjustment entries + Prepare detailed cost reports, margin analyses, and variance analyses to assist management in understanding financial performance + Monitor and audit manufacturing and operational expenses to ensure accurate cost allocation + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, supply chain, and operations) to review cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities + Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking costs against actual expenses to measure trends and variances + Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards in all costing and inventory management practices Requirements + Minimum 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or production settings + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CMA or CPA certification is a plus + Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling) + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
