We are looking for a Director of Business Development Accounting to join our Corporate Accounting team. This position is highly visible throughout the organization and will deal with complex accounting topics related to business development, M&A and collaboration transactions. As a valuable resource to the organization, you must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills. You must also have the ability to coordinate and manage projects, be proactive and deadline-focused, as well as highly organized. This will be a Hybrid Home/Office position with the opportunity to go into one of our offices located in San Carlos, CA, Cambridge, MA, or Hopewell, NJ. **Essential Functions of the job:** + Play an integral role in strategic financial decision-making by analyzing the accounting implications of acquisitions, collaborations, investments and other business development activities. + Assess accounting implications and risks related to new deal structures, contracts and other business development transactions. + Ensure business development related transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and assist with impacts to IFRS-related reporting jurisdictions (China and Hong Kong). + Serve as a key liaison between accounting and senior leadership on business development related accounting matters. + Oversee and project manage external valuation specialists. + Lead internal control policies, procedures, and documentation as it relates to business development accounting activities. + Lead ad hoc technical accounting projects and support SEC reporting. **Education Required:** + Bachelors degree in accounting, finance (or other related field). **Qualifications:** + BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 10+ years of related experience. + Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly related to business combinations, collaborative arrangements and investments in debt and equity securities + CPA preferred. + Significant experience in business development/collaboration accounting within life sciences preferred. + Ability to work and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel across the organization. + Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail. + Flexibility to handle conflicting priorities and work under strict deadlines + Strong analytical skills.
