Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager to provide leadership and oversight for a high-acuity emergency unit. The role ensures that patient care consistently meets professional standards and aligns with organizational policies. This position is accountable for 24-hour management of staffing, operations, patient flow, and overall quality of care within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the nursing team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adherence to clinical and operational protocols.
Support professional development and performance of staff through coaching, mentoring, and evaluations.
Collaborate with physicians, clinical support staff, and senior leadership to maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment.
Monitor performance metrics, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with established standards.
Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and high-quality patient care.
Maintain clinical competency by actively participating in patient care as needed and supporting staff in skill development.
Oversee patient assignments, evaluate care outcomes, and address patient or family concerns in a timely manner.
Participate in resolving staff issues, grievances, and professional challenges, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting.
Minimum of 2–5 years of recent experience in acute care, with hands-on Emergency Department experience.
Strong clinical background in emergency nursing with demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
Active Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
