Health Information Management Director

Overview:

A leading multi-state, mission-driven healthcare system is seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Director to oversee medical records, data governance, and compliance functions within an acute care hospital environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and optimize day-to-day HIM operations across the facility.
• Oversee medical coding accuracy, data integrity, and documentation compliance.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
• Partner with clinical, quality, and administrative teams on documentation initiatives.
• Manage HIM staff, department performance metrics, and operational budgets.
• Drive process improvement, audit readiness, and technology adoption within HIM.

Qualifications:

• RHIA or RHIT credential strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3+ year of HIM leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, medical record governance, and healthcare data operations.
• Proven experience managing teams and collaborating cross-functionally.
