Job Description: Massage Therapist

The Chanda Center for Health is a non-profit organization in Lakewood CO with a mission to improve the health and wellness of people living with long-term disabilities and reduce their associated healthcare costs. We believe that people living with long-term physical disabilities have the right to create their own healthcare path, live independently, and be active members in the community. We deliver services and positive health outcomes through an integrative healthcare model including acupuncture, massage, chiropractic care, adaptive yoga, physical therapy, counseling, behavioral health and care coordination.

Position Overview: The Center is seeking a 32 hour per week massage therapist who is highly skilled and experienced with a passion for respectful and compassionate care for the disabled population. This position will support the Chanda Center for Health serving people with Spinal Cord Injuries, Brain Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Spina Bifida and Muscular Dystrophy within a positive environment for all.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations

Supervision Received: Massage Therapist is supervised by the Senior Director of Clinical Operations

General Requirements & Qualifications: The Center is seeking candidates who meet or exceed the following qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of three years of Massage Therapy experience.
  • More than one year working with individuals living with physically disabilities.
  • Must have an active, current and unincumbered Colorado Massage Therapist license.
  • Must pass the required background checks and do so within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs and perform safe transfers of participants.
  • Must complete disability competency training and activities within 30 days of hire.
  • Must serve the participants within the standard of care defined by the Chanda Center for Health based on the population served.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills through effective teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent with managing electronic medical records and Microsoft Word.
  • Desire & awareness for equitable healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest quality of care for participants in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Comply with all state and federal rules, regulations and requirements for the provision of Massage Therapy.
  • Comply with all the Center’s Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensure each participant’s treatment plan is developed collaboratively with participant and other providers for the most beneficial outcome for the participant.
  • Will collaborate and communicate with Center staff and other providers in a HIPAA compliant manner.
  • Will complete timely and thorough documentation in EMR and other sources for care coordination and billing.
  • Will appropriately clean treatment area pre and post treatment and maintain a tidy workplace.
  • Will utilize the Center’s supplies provided for treatments in an efficient manner.
  • Will use care with the Center’s equipment and will ensure equipment is in good working order with appropriate preventative maintenance completed prior to use in treatment.
  • Will collaborate with the Center’s staff on needs of the Center related to supplies and/or equipment for the betterment of health outcomes.
  • Will achieve no less than minimum treatment time expectations set by Center administration.
  • Assist scheduling personnel with daily, weekly, monthly participant schedule as needed to support the Center’s participants’ needs.
  • Will assist in gathering operational and quality outcome data as requested by supervisor.
  • Will promptly notify his/her direct supervisor if Provider receives notification of their professional license, registration, certification, or accreditation being revoked, suspended, modified, limited, placed on probation or otherwise adversely affected. This communication must occur within 5 calendar days from receipt of such notice.
  • Will complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
