NATURAL RESOURCES MARINE BIOLOGIST - OUTREACH & EDUCATION

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is looking for a Natural Resources Marine Biologist who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our Natural Resources Marine Biologist have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Coordinate and execute all department outreach experiences. Assist with pond maintenance twice a week, lead educational program with guests and residents and assist with various department duties.
  • Coordinate all outreach programs with schools, community groups, and individuals, including curriculum and activity development and implementation.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all Ka'ūpūlehu water features.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of Resort guest and member programs.
  • Assist with aquaculture maintenance and production.
  • Assist with husbandry of all aquatic animals at Hualālai.
  • Assist with near-shore water quality monitoring, community surveys and technical support

WHAT TO BRING

  • A college degree in marine science or aquatic resources related field. Experience developing and implementing educational programs. Ability to work in and around the ocean and ponds.
  • The individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate well with resort guests, residents, and school groups.
  • A good understanding of basic water quality, Hawaiian fish identification and ecological concepts.
  • Ability to work outside in the ponds.
  • Ability to work occasionally in an office setting with skills in word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, and plan proactively.
  • High work ethic, with a keen sense of responsibility for natural resources.
  • Enthusiastic and positive, with a great desire to learn, improve, and achieve.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to carry 50lbs
  • Ability to swim 50 feet
