Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator

Location: Wixom, MI Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Rate: $23 - $25.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator to support production operations in Wixom, Michigan. This role requires hands-on experience with plastic extrusion equipment, including machine operation, roll changeovers, setup, and teardown. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable making extrusion machine adjustments, and proficient with hand tools to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plastic extrusion machines in accordance with safety, quality, and production standards
• Perform machine setup and teardown for production runs
• Complete roll changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime
• Adjust extrusion machine settings (temperature, speed, alignment, pressure, etc.) to meet product specifications
• Monitor product quality during runs and make necessary machine adjustments
• Use hand tools to perform routine mechanical adjustments and minor maintenance
• Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate complex problems as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience operating plastic extrusion machines
• Knowledge of extrusion machine setup, teardown, and roll changeovers
• Ability to make precise mechanical adjustments to extrusion equipment
• Proficiency using hand tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance for scheduled Monday–Thursday shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting extrusion process issues
• Familiarity with quality inspection and production documentation
• Manufacturing or plastics industry background
