Job Description

Summary

We are currently looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our community as an Assistant Teacher in our 3-5 classroom.

This is a crucial role that will involve supporting both the Lead Teacher and the students. The Assistant Teacher will help create a safe and nurturing environment where every student feels heard, can thrive, and succeed in all areas of their development.

Duties

Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children
Collaborate with the lead teacher to support students’ needs in all areas - physical, emotional, social, and intellectual
Support the lead teacher in reinforcing classroom agreements and work expectations in a positive manner throughout all parts of the day
Responsible for documenting daily observations of students
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to school

Requirements

Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience
21+ College hours in ECE or related field
An understanding of child development
Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher to cultivate a supportive, responsive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all students
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening

Pay Scale for Assistant : $20.00 - $24.00/hr ($35,200yr - $42,240yr) Dependent upon education and experience
