Private Butler, McLean, VA Full-time, Live out A prominent client is seeking a polished, capable, and service-focused Butler for their McLean, VA residence. This is a full-time, year-round opportunity for a refined private service professional who embodies discretion, elegance, and reliability in every aspect of their work. The ideal candidate brings not only experience and impeccable standards but also demonstrates quiet confidence to anticipate needs and support the seamless functioning of a refined household. Your mission is to ensure that daily service and entertaining are conducted with precision and attention to the smallest details, creating a serene and welcoming environment for both principals and their guests. The principals are looking for an early 2026 start date. Key Responsibilities Household Stewardship Assist the Housekeepers with the daily graces Inventory and care of fine china, crystal, silver, artwork, and antiques Polishing, seasonal decor setup, and organization of storage and basement areas Assist with repairs and maintenance needs in conjunction with the House Manager With the team, ensure the estate is principal-ready Wind clocks, monitor remotes/batteries, change lightbulbs Run errands including groceries, dry cleaning, floral arrangements, and mail Service Hospitality Formal and informal table setting, serving, and clearing Greet and announce guests, and orient overnight visitors to home amenities Coordinate with House Manager/Chef and Housekeepers and support all events, from intimate dinners to larger gatherings Light meal coordination if the House Manager/Chef is not available Clothing Personal Care Wardrobe organization, shoe care, and seasonal closet transitions Assist with household laundry and pressing Assist in linen care, dry cleaning drop-off/pick-up, and daily wardrobe readiness Run errands including groceries, dry cleaning, floral arrangements, and mail Qualities A consummate professional with prior Butler experience An appreciation for refined service standards and awareness of important Washington, DC protocols Gracious, poised, and discreet Attuned to the needs of others with a quietly proactive approach Meticulously organized, flexible, and unflappable under changing schedules Knowledgeable in the care of fine materials and luxury household items Outstanding, verifiable references and a long-term mindset Valid drivers license Schedule When the principal is not in residence this is generally Monday to Friday daytime hours, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm When the principals are in residence the role is generally, Thursday to Monday, extended hours To offset the longer weeks the principal is happy to offer some shorter weeks when not in residence Compensation Annual base compensation of $145,000 to $150,000 Full benefits package includes: annual discretionary bonus, health insurance, 401(k), PTO, vacation days, etc. #indmps
