Job Description
This position is based at our West Knoxville Branch (8721 Kingston Pike). Hybrid/Remote (in the office 1-2 days/week). The deadline to apply for this opportunity is December 15, 2025. Role : The Recruiter I is responsible for filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates. The Recruiter will develop recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources, as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Recruiter I plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Sources candidates using a variety of methods to build a robust candidate pipeline; interviews candidates; provides direction and collaborates with managers and supervisors during the interview process; ensures that proper interviewing and testing practices are utilized in the hiring process; develops relationships with external employment sources; facilitates transition of internal transfers within the Credit Union.
- Reviews job descriptions with hiring manager prior to posting open positions.
- Initiates and ensures completion of pre-employment screenings, to include verification of employment references, education and credit history, and criminal record check. Initiates onboarding by sending out welcome letter, including HR paperwork and information to all incoming employees, before start date.
- Maintains resume and application database and communicates job status to applicants.
- Meets with new employees during orientation to ensure employees understand HR policies and procedures and to foster a positive attitude toward Credit Union goals. Verifies collection of new hire paperwork including I-9 documentation.
- Assists with monthly metrics reports which reflect headcount, new hires, internal transfers, promotions, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintains current knowledge of recruitment practices. Maintains all records associated with recruiting, including applications, selection tests, interview notes and pre-employment screenings, to comply with regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience : One or more years of Recruiting experience is required. Experience with various sourcing strategies and recruiting methods is preferred.
Education : A high school diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or in a related field is preferred.
