Position Summary

As a Senior Oracle EBS/EDI Developer at STERIS, you will play a key role in supporting, enhancing, and implementing Oracle Applications, with a strong focus on EDI and related modules. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless support, maintenance, and execution of development requests and projects.

What You'll Do As A Senior Oracle Applications-EDI Developer

In this role, you will maintain and support EDI processes and their corresponding Oracle modules. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders and end users to identify issues, gather requirements, coordinate testing, and implement effective solutions that ensure smooth operations and integration.

Oracle Application / EDI Support – 30%

• Monitor EDI interfaces and critical production programs for errors, performance issues, and abnormalities.
• Provide first-level support for EDI interfaces and assigned Oracle Applications modules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported problems.
• Investigate issues using vendor support resources and documentation.
• Create and manage tickets or service requests with software vendors as needed.
• Develop scripts and implement changes to programs to address and resolve issues.
• Analyze and adjust Oracle Applications setup or configuration as required.
• Collaborate with team members, DBAs, and other technical teams to resolve complex issues.
• Partner with Business Process Owners to test and apply configuration changes in Oracle Applications to ensure successful resolution.

Oracle Applications / EDI Development – 70%

• Analyze business requirements for assigned development tasks and ensure a clear understanding before execution.
• Design and develop new programs or enhance existing ones based on requirements. This will be in the areas of, but not limited to: Reports, Forms, Interfaces, Alerts, Data Conversion.
• Develop test scripts and test maps/programs according to business requirements.
• Develop new EDI maps, reports, alerts, interfaces, and data conversion programs to support integration and automation.
• Perform performance tuning on programs, screens, and other objects to resolve reported issues.
• Analyze trading partner specifications and prepare technical documentation accordingly.
• Collaborate with business users to test programs in Development and Quality environments.
• Prepare technical documentation and user manuals for developed solutions.
• Coordinate with DBA and System Administration teams to migrate programs to Quality and Production environments.
• Partner with Business Process Owners to explore and implement new Oracle Application functionalities.
• Support Oracle Application upgrades and ensure smooth transitions.
• Participate in FDA validation processes when working on validated systems.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Your success in this role will rely on your expertise as a Senior Oracle Applications Developer combined with a strong understanding of EDI standards and processes. Additional qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of proven experience as an Oracle Applications Developer or in similar ERP environments with a focus on EDI.

Hands-on experience with Oracle Modules such as: 

• E-Commerce Gateway
• Order Management
• Advanced Pricing
• Customer Master

• Development experience in Oracle Applications environment (Application Object Library) and Oracle RDBMS.
• Experience working in a Unix environment.
• Interface development experience using flat file transfers or database links.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Oracle EDI tools and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and related technologies.
• Implement and support experience in EDI transactions (e.g., 850, 855, 865, 810, 832, 211) and ensure compliance with standards like ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
• Expertise in Reports, Forms, XML Publisher, Shell Scripting, SQL*Loader.

Familiarity with Application Object Library components: 

• Executables and Concurrent Program setups
• Alerts
• Functions/Forms
• Menus/Responsibilities
• Profiles
• Document Attachments

Preferred Experience

• Middleware experience.
• Oracle Applications implementation or upgrade experience.

Pay range for this opportunity is $90,737.50 - $117,425.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
